These are just some of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s new neighbors in Montecito, CA. TMZ is reporting, “the couple went into escrow in July and the deal closed about a week ago.” TMZ says that the Sussexes spent around $10 million, (Update: We are now hearing $14,650,000) “which got them a lot more house than they’d get in L.A.”

Trying to avoid the paparazzi and protect their family, “they bought a secure, gated estate. These properties have plenty of land … in some cases up to 50 acres, although most of that is hillside. But, the properties have lots of flat land, so Archie can play away.”

TMZ is confident that Oprah helped the Duke and Duchess in navigating their move to America. Oprah produced a documentary on mental health with Prince Harry and it has long been rumored that Oprah set up Harry and Meghan’s temporary rental at Tyler Perry’s Los Angeles home. (Oprah BFF, Gayle King, disputes this.) Oprah also happens to be the Queen of Montecito. Her 42-acre estate is known as “the Promised Land.”

While inside their Montecito home, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi were burglarized just last month. They purchased a 8,188-square-foot, Balinese-style home in early 2019 for $27 million. Ellen is close to both Harry and Meghan.
